What is it about?

Your children will follow the story of young Beric as he embarks on his quest to become a knight, and they will be challenged to serve the Lord whole-heartedly and to turn to His Word for direction on how to handle every situation they face.

THE QUEST

Knights! Maidens! Exciting adventures for untold Treasure! Could it get any better?

The Quest will captivate children ages 5-12 at the Kids Conference portion of this year’s NFH Family Conference. Over the weekend they will learn delightful songs, memorize Scripture verses, enjoy object lessons, participate with hands-on projects, and play a variety of games. This program should not be viewed as merely childcare: it is intended to deliver a Bible-based message in an unforgettable and fun way!

We look forward to spending October 8-9th together in God’s Word!

Some frequently asked questions we are getting...

DO I NEED TO BRING FOOD FOR ME OR MY KIDS?
Yes! You will want to bring individual sack lunches and drinks for ALL ages (nursery, Kids Conference AND LIT's) as well as for you as a couple on Friday.
On Saturday, the whole family will be eating together so we recommend you bring a picnic lunch for the whole family.
Both days you will also want to bring a morning and afternoon snack for the children (including any nursery age)

WHAT ARE SOME OTHER THINGS I NEED TO BRING?
We recommend bringing:
*Jackets
*If you as parents are attending the parent sessions, we highly encourage bringing a notebook and pens to keep notes.
*If you also have children in nursery, please bring diaper bags, blankets, bottles, snacks etc. to have on hand for the nursery care workers. They will have a quiet time to lay down and try to nap both days. Also note that you will pick up your nursery age children over the lunch hour to feed them.

WHAT IF WE ARE FEELING UNWELL?
Please keep in mind that if your children show any signs of illness, please stay home. We want to be considerate of the other families attending conference and do not want to expose other children to sickness over the weekend.
Remember to monitor for symptoms of illness, including:
Sudden onset of cough
Sudden onset of shortness of breath
Elevated temperature/fever

Be sure to reach out if you have any other questions! We are excited to see you all SOON!!

Other Sessions

Homeschooling 101

Scott & Laura McKeen

Homeschooling: it's not just checking the boxes and academics--it's relationships, it's readying, it's resolve. Let's walk through your questions together and help you think about what homeschooling can look like for you.

Homeschool’s Battle for Liberty

Ron Duncan

“How much does it cost?” Conscientious parents analyze costs of countless items in raising a family, but have we considered the cost of homeschooling liberty? At the outset of Nebraska homeschooling in 1980, significant sacrifices were made to secure this liberty. Families were served lawsuits, parents were incarcerated, children were fled into hiding outside the state, and even a church’s doors were locked shut for facilitating exempt education. Navigate this history with Ron Duncan as he narrates the events of the last 40 years, exhorts us to be vigilant today, and gives us a true appreciation and value for the cost of this liberty.

Encouragement to Moms

Michele Mitchell

Michele Mitchell is a veteran homeschool mom. Married to Rob, their 2 grown children are both evidence of the time & investment they’ve made in their children’s lives! Michele has a knack for encouraging other moms, and sharing in a candid way what she’s learned along the way. You will be blessed to glean from her wisdom & insight, as well as be encouraged in your homeschooling journey as a mom!

Rotating Groups as a Family

This is a kid-favorite at every Kids Conference! Now, the whole family can enjoy rotating through 4 fun activities together with the rest of the groups.

Book Browse
Have you ever wanted to get your hands on curriculum and talk to real people who use and love them? If so, this is the place for you! We have various moms assigned to bring their top favorite curriculums or things that have worked for their families. They will be at tables that are set up specifically to help you browse, get to know the mom who brought their favorites, and chat with her about why she loves what she uses. It mixes all the best parts of seeing curriculum in person + fellowshipping and talking with others for encouragement. You won't want to miss this!

Praise and Worship Time
We want to be intentional about praising the Lord in all that we do. Sometimes that's washing dishes or patiently helping our teen with school - and sometimes that's getting together in one place and raising our voices in praise as we sing to Him. We are looking forward to this sweet time together on Saturday morning.
