A Note from Scott:

As a pastor, God has called me to "Equip the saints for the work of the ministry." There are no saints I enjoy equipping and interacting with more than homeschooling families. For that reason I am so thankful and excited to be the keynote speaker at this year's NFH Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. As a father of nine ranging in ages from 14 to 6 months, we are in the trenches! We know the struggles homeschooling families are experiencing and the encouragement they need, because we are experiencing those struggles and we need that encouragement. I look forward to seeing you in Nebraska and having the opportunity to share God's word with you, pray with you, and do my best to answer any questions you might have. God bless and I hope to see you this fall!

Scott LaPierre

Main Speaker for this year's NFH Family Conference

Scott LaPierre is a senior pastor, author, and conference speaker. He holds an MA in Biblical Studies from Liberty University. Scott and his wife, Katie, have been married for more than fifteen years. A former schoolteacher and Army officer, Scott currently leads a church in Washington State and supports his family on his pastor’s salary, allowing Katie to stay home with their nine children. Both are passionate advocates of homeschooling. Learn more about Pastor Scott at his website: www.scottlapierre.org.

Also joining him, will be his wife Katie LaPierre. She is an author, pastor’s wife, and homeschooling mother of nine. She and her husband, make their home in Washington state. When Katie isn’t caring for her husband, children, or home, you can find her writing, reading, or investing in mothers. Because of her passion to encourage mothers, she runs a ministry called, Eternally Minded Mamas.

What is it about?

All aboard for a riveting drama of intrigue, suspense, and treasure. Five orphans set out across Europe to recover their parents’ valuable inheritance. The tracks get rough as a band of ruffians are on the hunt as well.

Children chug full steam into the thrilling adventure, learning along the way that the most precious treasure - wisdom - is worth seeking with all your heart.

THE LEGACY

THE LEGACY will captivate children ages 5-12 at the Kids Conference portion of this year’s NFH Family Conference. Over the weekend they will learn delightful songs, memorize Scripture verses, enjoy object lessons, participate with hands-on projects, and play a variety of games. This program should not be viewed as merely childcare: it is intended to deliver a Bible-based message in an unforgettable and fun way!

We look forward to spending the weekend together in God’s Word!

LIT Training

Young Teens (ages 13-14) are invited to attend our Leaders in Training (LIT) program. This allows young teens to attend and enjoy the large group sessions that they have grown to love as children. During the small group times, the teens will be taught, 10 Steps for Effective Teaching, Properly Introducing Songs, Stories, and Verses, The Art of Storytelling, and so much more. They will be given tools and hands-on experience to help them become effective teachers for children and will be given the basics they will need to return as staff if they so choose. Parents will need to provide each LIT student with a sack lunch.

Nursery

Tadpoles (ages 1-2) will be hosted by our sweet staff who will sing to, pray for, and take care of your adorable babies while they sleep and play.

Tree Frogs (ages 3-4) will enjoy this exciting and interactive, play-learning environment. They will discover truths from God’s Word, play, and rest. It will be a wonderful time of learning and playing.

Some frequently asked questions we are getting...

DO I NEED TO BRING FOOD FOR ME OR MY KIDS?
Yes! You will want to bring individual sack lunches and drinks for ALL ages (nursery, Kids Conference AND LIT's) as well as for you as a couple on Friday.
On Saturday, the whole family will be eating together so we recommend you bring a picnic lunch for the whole family.
Both days you will also want to bring a morning and afternoon snack for the children (including any nursery age)

WHAT ARE SOME OTHER THINGS I NEED TO BRING?
We recommend bringing:
*Jackets
*If you as parents are attending the parent sessions, we highly encourage bringing a notebook and pens to keep notes.
*If you also have children in nursery, please bring diaper bags, blankets, bottles, snacks etc. to have on hand for the nursery care workers. They will have a quiet time to lay down and try to nap both days. Also note that you will pick up your nursery age children over the lunch hour to feed them.

WHAT IF WE ARE FEELING UNWELL?
Please keep in mind that if your children show any signs of illness, please stay home. We want to be considerate of the other families attending conference and do not want to expose other children to sickness over the weekend.
Remember to monitor for symptoms of illness, including:
Sudden onset of cough
Sudden onset of shortness of breath
Elevated temperature/fever

Be sure to reach out if you have any other questions! We are excited to see you all SOON!!
