Since God is the author of absolute Truth, the Bible is how we can know our Savior and is our guide for truth in every area of life. - 2 Timothy 3:14-17 - 2 Peter 1:2-4 - 2 Peter 1:20-21 - Psalm 119:9 - Deuteronomy 4:2 - GOD I believe that there is one God. He is the infinitely Holy Creator of the universe, He is the Sustainer of all things, and He eternally exists as 3 persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). He is the standard for holiness and cannot allow sin to be in His presence. However, just as he is holy and righteous, He is also full of mercy and love, and has provided a way for us to escape the punishment for our sin through the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. - Isaiah 45:5-7 - Genesis 1:1-31 - 1 Corinthians 8:4-6 - 2 Corinthians 13:14 - 1 Chronicles 29:11-13 MAN & SIN I believe that we were created by God in His image and His likeness, but that because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience of God, sin entered the world. Since then, everyone has been and is born into a world that is in inherent rebellion to God. We all have have a sin nature, and deserve the penalty of true, eternal death and separation from God. - Genesis 1:26 - Romans 5:12 - Psalm 14:1-3 - Romans 3:23 - Romans 5:12 - Ephesians 2:1-3 - James 2:10 - SALVATION I believe that I deserve punishment because of my sin, but because of God’s grace and love, He has a plan to save us. That plan was to send His Son, Jesus, to earth. He was born as a baby and grew to a man, yet never sinned. He lived a pure life among His people, loving them and ministering to them. He was then arrested, beaten, and nailed to a cross where He hung until He died. However, on the third day after His death, He arose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. I believe this was God’s plan for salvation and it is only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His shed blood that I can be saved, and not any works that I might do. Salvation is given by God as a free gift and those who receive it are pardoned from their sins and are given eternal life in Heaven with Him. Salvation involves repentance for sin, turning from man’s way to God’s way and having a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Luke 1:26-35 - John 1:1-5 - Philippians 2:5-8 - Romans 3:21-26 - Romans 6:22-23 - Titus 3:4-7 - Ephesians 2:8-9 - John 1:10-16 - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - John 3:16-18 - HOW WE SHOULD LIVE IN LIGHT OF SALVATION I believe salvation will be demonstrated by a changed life. Following Christ is not a one-time event, it is ongoing in everyday life. I have been born again, and so I desire to serve and glorify Jesus Christ: not to earn His approval, but out of thankfulness to Him and because I am a new creature - the old has passed away and the new has come. Though the sin nature remains in our lives, we are led by the Holy Spirit to grow in the Lord, to keep His commandments, and to live in a way that glorifies Him and shares His Salvation with others. - 2 Corinthians 5:14-19 - Titus 3:1-8 - Romans 6:14-20 - Romans 7:13-25 - Romans 8:1-11 - 1 Peter 1:13-21 - Ephesians 2:8-10 - Mark 16:15 - Matthew 28:19 FAMILY: I believe that within a family both marriage and parenthood can reflect God’s character. The love between a husband and wife is a glimpse of Jesus and his love for us, His bride. We believe that God has established marriage and it is an exclusive union between one biological man and one biological woman. We also believe that all intimate activities outside a marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, are contrary to God’s commands and are not a reflection of His relationship with His bride. (Genesis 2:22-24 - Matthew 19:4-6 - Hebrews 13:4-7 - Mark 10:6-9 - I Corinthians 7:1-16) Likewise, parenthood reflects God’s patience and love towards us as His children. We believe that children are blessings given by God to their parents. Because parenting reflects God’s character, it is the father and mother’s responsibility to be a place where children can see a glimpse of their Heavenly Father and to always point their children to Jesus. (Deuteronomy 11:18-19 - Proverbs 22:6 - Psalm 127:3-5)By signing, I agree to abide by, affirm, and support all the principles set forth in the entire document of the Nebraska Families for Homeschooling’s “Statement of Faith”. *I agreeBy signing, I understand that: *Completion of this application does not guarantee my participation in the NFH conferenceI completed this application and verify that all information is current and accurateI will cheerfully follow the directions given by leadershipI have read the NFH Statement of faith, and I agree to not practice or teach any doctrines that go beyond the NFH statement of faith and approved curriculumI give NFH permission to run a background check to ensure the safety of all our participantsSignature *Clear SignatureDate / Time *If applicant is under age 18, Parent/guardian signatureClear SignatureAre you interested in being part of the NFH Drama? *YesNoPreviousNextThank you for filling out this application.
